# Keep active as you go - be flexible and focus on favourite activities

When you arrive at your destination, set the tone for the trip by working out right away or head for a walk – even if it’s only a brisk walk to check the area. If this is not doable, plan time for your next training and handle it as if it is an important appointment, as it is.

Walking is a low-impact activity that might be done indoors or outside and needs no equipment. Walk through the airport’s terminals, hotel or conference center’s hallways. Take the stairway. Or, take your stroll outside to explore the city. Talk with the hotel about safe walking or jogging paths around.

Use 80/20 Rule - make healthy choices by 80% of the time, and 20% try whatever you want

1# Running is a marvellous way to get to know the city

Running as a means to get to know the city is an interesting concept, isn’t it? Doing it in the morning while most places are still empty outside gives a lot of benefits:

  • By running, you can see much more and much faster than walking.
  • Besides visiting and getting familiar with different districts you can see more “normal” parts of the city – less touristic.
  • space for your body and mind without slaloming between the people,
  • seeing usually crowded spaces empty,
  • give yourself a happiness boost for a day,
  • increase energy,
  • getting your healthy dose of exercise,
  • having it done and out of your mind to enjoy yourself.

How to pack? Sport shoes and 2 or 3 sport sets will be a great addition to your luggage. Letting you be comfortable to have spare change that you do not need to wash immediately after every use. At the same time, it does not take too much space in a suitcase. Chose closes from easy to dry materials and avoid cotton.

Research if the place you want to run is safe. Ask hotel staff for advice and of course … Google

Every time I travel, I make a point of running in a new location the first thing in the morning. I ran in the morning in New York, Barcelona, Paris, London, Los Angeles, Mexico, and even in winter in Canada. This is my favourite moment of any trip.

2# Test World's gyms

Many hotels have their own gyms. Some cooperate with local gyms, that you can use as a guest for free or for a small fee.

Another solution is to look for gyms with ‘Open day’ where you can receive a free day pass to check if you like the gym – without any obligations. Contact them!

More and more hotels develop their gym-wellness section or small fitness center. And it’s nothing surprising check-up Grand Hyatt Berlin, Boheme hotel in Mykonos, Clarion Hotel – Stockholm or Excelsior Hotel Gallia in Milan. When you will be visiting LA, and you would love to train at legendary Gold’s Gym on Sunset Boulevard, book your staying in Erwin Hotel

How to pack? Sport shoes and 2-3 sets of sports clothes. Depend on your favoured activities, you can take with you small accessories (Power Band, Hip Band, TRX) that will enrich your training and fit easily into the luggage. It will save you if the gym does not have the equipment you expected.
